Applications are now open for the Coda Student Interpreter Grant!
Asign recognizes the unique challenges Codas face in pursuing interpreter education. To help reduce these barriers and support a more inclusive profession, we award $3,000 each year to one outstanding Coda student interpreter.
This grant was set up in memory of Christine Wilson—Asign co-founder, proud Coda, and extraordinary interpreter. Christine was more than a colleague; she was a mentor, a friend, and a guiding force in the interpreting community.
Grant eligibility:
To apply, you must:
- Identify as a Coda
- Be enrolled in a Canadian Interpreting Education Program (IEP) (proof of acceptance or course registration required.)
- Submit a resume, cover letter, and an ASL video (max 8 minutes) covering:
- Your involvement in the Deaf community.
- Why you want to become an interpreter.
- How you plan to contribute to the Deaf and interpreting communities after graduation.
